Introduction

This page provides some suggestions for registration for IHE Connectathons. It is not meant to be definitive, but will provide some advice for organizations that are new to the process.

The advice is based on our experience with other vendors and registration. Your product may have different features.

EMR Systems

EMR systems typically test at IHE Connectathons as participants in Health Information Exchanges. They function is systems that want to share documents and retrieve documents in such exchanges. As such, these are profiles they normally test:

  1. Document Source or Document Creator in XDS.b or other transport profile from the XDS family (ie XDR or XDM)
    1. ATNA Secure Application (implies you sell a software only solution) or ATNA Secure Node (implies you sell a physical system that is secured).
    2. CT Time Client
  2. A consumer to get patient identification in the exchange:
    1. Patient Demographics Consumer in PDQ (if you don't have your own patient registration software), or
    2. Patient Identity Source and Patient Demographics Consumer in the PIX profile
    3. Either PDQV3 or PIXV3 if you prefer the HL7 V3 world to HL7 V2
  3. Document Content Profiles
    1. If you create documents, you want to be a Content Creator in one or more Content Profiles
    2. If you consume documents, you want to be a Content Consumer in one or more Content Profiles
